On Friday night, we took over Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn for our thirteenth No Ceilings show, and it was one of the best yet. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect for Kamaiyah. It was the Oakland rapper’s first headlining show in NYC, and it was completely sold out and buzzing with positive energy.

The show got off to a strong start with Khary, who got the crowd involved early by stepping off stage and performing among the people. Trapo came all the way from Madison, Wisconsin and even though it was the teenage rapper’s first time ever stepping foot in NYC, he delivered with confidence and intensity, providing some highlight moments from the night. Jimi Tents was on next, and as a New York native, he already had the audience in the palm of his hand and upped the energy with a little assistance from Jay IDK and Justin Rose.

By the time Kamaiyah came out, everyone in the room was ready for it, and her hook-heavy hits are made for moments like this. A room full of sweaty people moving as one, singing along to “How Does It Feel” is a beautiful thing. Thank you to Staple Pigeon, Move Forward Music, Baby’s All Right, Kamaiyah, Jimi Tents, Trapo, Khary, and everyone who came out. See you next time.
