Of all the big names DJ Khaled recruited for his forthcoming album, Major Key, he said that he thinks Kendrick Lamar’s verse will be the most talked about. “Kendrick Lamar went so hard,” he said into his phone on Snapchat before quickly adding, “also, I want to be super clear, I’ve got this Big Sean verse. Oh man, it’s so crazy.”
We didn’t have to wait long to see what the hype was about, as he shared the song during this evening’s episode of We The Best Radio on Beats 1. Over a thunderous beat, Big Sean leads things off, referencing police brutality and Khaled’s jet ski adventure in the same verse. Then, after an emphatic chorus from Wright, Kendrick comes through with a politically charged, multi-layered verse we’ll be playing over and over.
