The BET Awards promised a show chalk-full of tributes honoring Prince’s legacy, and deliver it did. The show tapped talent both young and old for a smart mix of the late legend’s classic songs. Teamwork resulted in some spine-tingling moments.

The Roots first backed chilling vocal performances from Erykah Badu and Bilal, with the latter concluding his rendition of “The Beautiful Ones” on the stage floor. Several members of the audience could be seen crying or holding back tears as he yelped and rolled.

Later, Stevie Wonder took the stage alongside rising singer-songwriter Tori Kelly and certified note-belter Jennifer Hudson for “Take Me With You” and “Purple Rain.” All-around strong performances from a diverse group of entertainers.

Head below to watch the star-studded tributes.
