Kanye West faced all of the major figures of his career head on with his video for “Famous”: The clip is a post-orgy scene featuring, from left to right, George W. Bush, Donald Trump, Anna Wintour, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Kanye, Kim Kardashian West, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, and Bill Cosby, most of whom are represented by various non-real means. For example, Brown said his appearance in the video is by a wax figure.

Kanye told Vanity Fair that the video wasn’t meant to disparage of exalt anybody: “It’s not in support or anti any of [the people in the video],” he said. “It’s a comment on fame.”

Before reaching its final product, the video went through four different formats and was filmed over the course of three months. Kanye said that it was important to have his wife’s approval on the project: “[I say] a lot of lines other wives would not allow a husband to say, but my wife also puts up photos that other husbands wouldn’t let them put up. One of the keys to happiness in our marriage is we’re allowed to be ourselves.”
