UPDATE: WGN Television is reporting that O’Connor has been located at hotel in the Chicago area. She has since been taken to a local hospital.
TMZ is reporting that Sinead O’Connor has gone missing in a possibly suicidal state after not returning home from a bike ride on Sunday in Wilmette, Illinois. Chicago police have been looking for Sinead since she went missing yesterday, after someone called the police to report that she hadn’t returned from her afternoon bike ride. The person who reported her missing told the police that she was in a suicidal state. Police have deemed O’Connor as “missing suicidal.”
Last year, Sinead was treated for a suspected drug overdose. She posted a Facebook update that has since been deleted, in which she said, “I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name. If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t even find out… I could have been dead here for weeks already and they’d never have known.” She followed up the update by addressing her family members directly: “You’re dead to me. You killed your mother. You stole my sons. You left me alone for twelve weeks!”
The Wilmette Police Department have released an official statement confirming a caller contacted the police regarding O’Connor before she went missing, before telling Complex that “No other information is available at this time.” Sinead was last seen on a motorized bike with a pink basket, wearing a black parka, black leather pants, and a sweatshirt with “Ireland” on the back of it.
