Sia unexpectedly crashed the finale of Survivor last night.
As she yelled from the crowd and made her way to the stage during the reunion show, it was easy to be skeptical that her motives were another attention-seeking move from a pop star.
She flipped the script, though, and offered to donate $50k to finalist Tai Trang. Inspired by his work as an animal rights activist, she paired that with another $50k to be donated to a charity of his choice.
“I didn’t recognize who she was, but I know her music,” Trang told Entertainment Weekly. “And I so appreciate it, and she gave me $50,000 for the animals. I said, ‘Yes, that’s good, to bring awareness to the animals and all life really… awareness of not being so human-centric.’ And she said, ‘I’ve been watching the show, I’m a huge fan,” and that I’m one of her favorites because of who I am.”
