In anticipation of her debut album, Nothing’s Real, Shura has shared another single from the upcoming project, and it’s a sparkling, ’80s-tinged pop gem. More upbeat than what we’ve heard so far in “Touch” and “2Shy,” “What’s It Gonna Be” is also one of the album’s highlights for Shura herself.

“It’s the first piece of truly new music in a while,” says the singer of her new single on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio show. “The record is about fancying someone and maybe having a kind of connection and realizing that it’s probably not gonna happen.” Shura also compares the album release process to a pregnancy—while she’s excited and it’s obvious to everyone around her, she’s ready to let it go.

Shura’s highly-anticipated debut album Nothing’s Real is due July 8. Listen to “What’s It Gonna Be” below.
