Mykki Blanco is back with the grandiose new Woodkid-featuring single, “High School Never Ends.” Premiered via Beats 1, “High School Never Ends” is the first single to be taken from Mykki’s currently untitled debut album, and it’s certainly a flashy one. Following the announcement of pursuing a career in journalism, it seemed unlikely that Mykki would be returning to the world of music, but if “High School Never Ends” is any indication, it’s clear that Mykki made the right choice.

Mykki has been keeping busy over on SoundCloud, sharing a couple of one-off tracks showcasing numerous left-field approaches to hip-hop. Mykki also recently collaborated with Gaika for the particularly great “Push More Weight.”

Featuring luscious strings and an excellent appearance from Woodkid, it’s clear from “High School Never Ends” that Mykki is promising big things from that long-promised debut album. There hasn’t been a date revealed for the album just yet, but considering it was originally supposed to come out last year, it’s looking like it’ll arrive sometime before the end of the year.

Listen to “High School Never Ends” below, and check out the preview of the Matt Lambert-directed video for the track below that.
