Best New Mixes Streaming Right Now

If Friday the 13th didn't finish you, and you've survived another Saturday night spent out late, take some time to soak up these mighty fine mixes which should serve well to keep your Sunday schedule in shape.

Starting off with the heavily decorated dons of modern day house music Ă‚me & Dixon on Essential Mix duties, there's also a tantalisingly short mix from a mysterious cabal of D&B producers collaborating under the name Richie Brains, a back-to-back featuring Teki Latex, Tom Lea and Betty, plus a mix that's oh so Canada, but spans a lot more than the 6.

Looking back on the last couple of weeks, these and other noteworthy sessions make up our latest installment of the Best New Mixes Streaming Right Now.

1.

2. Ame X Dixon: Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1

Free of audio watermarks, the wonderful back-to-back between house heavyweights Ă‚me & Dixon for Radio 1's Essential Mix series was made available on Soundcloud by the former, giving a more refined listening experience for everyone. A welcome update for anyone who has already listened or a pleasant surprise for anyone who hasn't ever heard of Ă‚me & Dixon, the following two hours are a treat.

3. BIRTHDAY: Music To... Be Alone To Mix for i-D Magazine

This one going out to all the stay indoors on a sunny day crew, as the duo known as Birthday home-brewed a mix 'To Be Alone To' for the folks at i-D Magazine and it's full of malaise-driven melodies. Starting off with some Squarepusher, the forty-minute session also includes songs from familiar names like Toro Y Moi, Bones, Jam City and Archy Marshall aka King Krule.

Keep it (dimly) lit.

4. Rabit: Concrete Hell Mix for Halcyon Veil

As the title suggests, Rabit's 'Concrete Hell' mix for Halcyon Veil doesn't make light of inner-city life, opting for a tracklist that does little to glamourize life on the streets, and instead opts for songs that present a more stark portrait of that reality. UGK, Mystikal, Geto Boys and more feature.

5. Alfred English: Guest Mix for Tiny Mix Tapes

Ready, aim, and fire on this handful of heaters from Alfred English, with almost half being his own productions. The 30-minute recording for Tiny Mix Tapes also features Wacka Flocka, Gucci Mane, Ty Dolla, and more. After repeated listens, the might cause your face to screw. If your screwface remains after 12 hours, listen to some Enya and call a medical professional.

6. Tom Lea b2b Teki Latex b2b Betty: Radar Radio Mix

Skip if you're eaily bothered by a tiny bit of chatter in and around a mix, but this back-to-back featuring Sound Pellegrino's Teki Latex and Betty alongside Local Action Records' Tom Lea still brings enough of the things we like.

Peculiar hip-hop? Check. Dancehall riddims are a go. Funk is full blast, and you know there's some rude remixes in there too.

7. Javi FrĂas: Good Life Mix 044

There are days when only disco can do the awesome time you're having justice, and if you're on the verge of shimmying down the street like John Travlota in the intro to Saturday Night Fever, make sure you give the following from Javi FrĂas a spin.

"New fresh mix for Leeds collective Good Life. Some of my favorite disco and boogie bangers. Hope you dig it!!"

8. Palms Trax: Beats In Space Radio Show #833

A little of this and a little of that in Palms Trax's latest for Tim Sweeny's Beats In Space broadcast. Bouncy but understated cuts with the commonality of cool and funk are key players in making this one of the smoothest listens on the list. Club Tropicana vibes.

9. Richie Brains: Richie Brains Minimix

Prior to the recent album launch party for mysterious figure Richie Brains, this minimix surfaced on Exit Records' Soundcloud and had us more than intrigued. Spoiler alert for anyone who wants to live in ignorant bliss about the identity of Mr Brains, but the project is the collective (ahem) brainchild of dBridge in collaboration with Alix Perez, Chimpo, Fixate, Fracture, Om Unit, Sam Binga and Stray. Whilst it's little over 10 minutes long, be assured this mix is more than just a morsel.

10. Paul Devro: Top Bunk Mix #1

Mad Decent mainstay Paul Devro presents the inaugural mix for his new 'Top Bunk' series, and it's good to see PD still likes to serve up songs hot and fast. If you're already familiar with the Mad Decent family then promptly make your way to the play button. Everyone else might need to take a moment.

11. Aquarium Drunkard: Rollin’ Up The Rim, A Vintage Canadian Mixtape

If you're reading this, it's already fair to assume a significant amount of you have given Views a listen. We're also 99.9% sure you're aware of Kaytranada's debut album recently being released. But Canada is a big place! It's really, really big. So for anyone searching past the city and into the hills, looking for something quintessentially Canadian, that isn't Drake, but still does well to tug at the heartstrings with tales of loss and self-reflection (without the help of strippers), this is for you.

"Two sons of Tommy Douglas invite you on a spring trip across Canada. From lonesome provinces to cosmic territories, and everywhere in between. A place where private press unknowns stand as tall as under-appreciated legends. Enjoy the ride."
