Lauryn Hill will be putting on a three-day music and arts festival on April 15 at Brooklyn venue Kings Theatre. In association with Tidal, the festival is called Diaspora Calling!. In a statement announcing the festival, Lauryn said, “Diaspora Calling! is a collection of works intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from the African Diaspora while also illumining persistent and irrepressible themes.”
She further explained, saying, “Even if we work independently, we are a resounding collective voice, both reconciling and embracing our relationship to history, our origins, our future and to ourselves.” The festival will feature a number of performances, with Lauryn herself included on the line-up. Some of the event will be livestreamed via Tidal for subscribers.
