At this point, we all know that Drake is really good at the Internet. He knows that we aren’t as interested in passively consuming media as we used to be and would rather interact with it. Or, more simply, we want to make memes out of it—and he’s given us plenty of source material over the years (see here, here, and here for just a few recent examples).

In an interview with Instagram, he addressed his status as pop culture’s meme king, saying, “I have become the most memed person aside from the Michael Jordan crying face.”

“I love that I’m the guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” he continued. “I like laughing even if it’s at my expense. It doesn’t feel like it’s necessarily malicious or hurtful stuff. I’m conscious of it. Even with the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late cover, when everyone took the font — that’s just our culture right now. I really enjoy it more than watching television. It brings joy to my life, and I hope it brings joy to other people’s lives too.”

He also took a moment to comment on the photoshopped cover of ‘VIEWS,’ explaining, “There was another picture of me on a balcony but that could be anywhere. I could be in Chicago. I could be in New York. Just to see that building on the cover of this album lets me know in my heart that I did the right thing.”

Of course, as a quick scroll through any social media timeline reveals, the world would rather photoshop him in to literally any other background. Happy meme-ing, everyone.
