Last year De La Soul created a Kickstarter as an effort to deliver music to the fans who truly want it. The target goal was set at $110,000 in order for the trio to make a new album. However, supporters and fans quickly helped De La Soul to reach that goal, and then some. By the time the Kickstarter closed only a month later, supporters had pledged a whopping $600,875.
As fans continue to wait patiently for De La Soul to release their forthcoming album And The Anonymous Nobody, the group treated fans to a special gift with the surprise release of a new EP. While they continue to edit their Kickstarter page with more details and updates about their new album, they have now delivered somewhat of a musical appetizer called For Your Pain & Suffering to thank fans for being so patient.
The EP is just a short 4 tracks, but a great preview of what’s to come. According to the artwork, And The Anonymous Nobody is slated for a release on August 26.
