Today, Complex TV launches their new series titled Complex City Cypher. In this series, Complex aims to visit various cities and highlight local talent. For the first installment of the new series, the cypher gets kicked off in New York City.
Ratking’s Wiki, Your Old Droog, and A$AP Ferg help to give the series of cyphers a proper introduction. However, instead of the usual DJ backing them with a few looped beats, the emcees receive live instrumentation from Grammy-nominated jazz musician Christian Scott to create an alluring juxtaposition. The rappers as well as the band show different perspectives of freestyling as they all improvise to the best of their abilities.
