The Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is going down in Florida right now, and last night was highlighted by The PoWow!, a collaborative jam session between artists. During the set, a group that included Miguel, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler busted out a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.”
Miguel took lead vocals for the soulful rendition of the track performed by a group that also included John Oates (of Hall & Oates), saxophonist Kamasi Washington (who was featured on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly and Flying Lotus’ You’re Dead!), and others. The group was also joined during the encore by Marcus Mumford to cover The Clash’s “Rock the Casbah” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Let’s Groove.”
Shortly before taking the stage, Miguel posted a group photo on Instagram of the jam participants and captioned it, “Honored to be on stage in less than a minute w all these amazing guys. True living legends who have all inspired me as musicians and now as human beings. I fucking love my life. Major shout to Paul and OKEECHOBEEE fest for doing this.”
