Metro Boomin is only 22 years old, but he is on top of the world right now. Fresh off producing one of 2015’s biggest tracks, “Jumpman,” he rolled into 2016 with multiple placements on Kanye’s The Life of Pablo, including the meme-inspiring “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1”. Young Metro recently headed to London, and while he was there he took some time to speak with Benji B on BBC Radio 1.

Metro Boomin spoke on Future, Kanye, Big Sean, the importance of always evolving, and the influence of Atlanta, but the most interesting news might be that he’s been in the studio with Kendrick Lamar. Metro says that the two of them vibed for the day and Kendrick “picked a bunch of beats out.”

Metro also gives some insight into working on The Life of Pablo, explaining that he finished the drum parts for Kanye’s “FML” in his hotel just before catching a flight. He goes on to speak on his “brother” Future and the record that he thinks defines his career as a producer so far.

Listen to the full interview here, starting around 30 minutes, and check out the clip talking about Kendrick below.
