Since the release of 2014’s Lower, Brooklyn’s Glass Gang has been concentrating on touring and writing new material. As a result of forming new relationships and meeting new collaborators, the band is back with their first single in two years.
“Outside Your Love” sees Glass Gang stepping away from the brooding and mysterious aesthetic heard throughout Lower, but instead, the band offers an infectiously upbeat song that was inspired by a karaoke birthday party.
Says Glass Gang of the song’s origins: “We went to a karaoke birthday party in Chinatown and no one was singing any songs that’d come out in the last 10 years. We met up the next day, threw out everything we were writing for our first album and started writing songs that you can sing along to.”
