RYAN Playground is a bit of a musical prodigy—she played drums, guitar, and violin as a child, and migrated towards experimental electronic music as her interest in music thickened.
Somewhere along the way, the Montreal-born artist linked up with another Ryan (Hemsworth) and his Secret Songs label, which is quickly becoming a one-stop shop for the future of electronic music. This is their second release together, following on the heels of her debut single “Are You Mad?”
“Folders” is produced by Hemsworth, but Playground’s vocals are perfectly suited for his meandering, curious electronica. It’s yet another standout from the young artist, and comes complete with a metropolitan music video that finds her exploring frigid terrain.
