Last month, we premiered “Hell,” the debut single from 23-year-old British singer Jordan Max, who impressed us with a painful heart-on-his-sleeves vocal delivery and thoughtful lyrics that questioned the direction of humanity.

Today, he returns with “Let Me Lay Down,” an equally gripping soulful ballad. After looking out at the world around him on “Hell,” Max sets his gaze inward as he sings about “looking for light in the dark” during a moment of personal heartbreak. Although he hasn’t released any photos of himself and available background information is minimal, Max reveals enough through his vulnerable vocals on both bedroom-recorded tracks to prove himself as a promising new talent that has our full attention.

Listen to the song below and look for his EP Only One Is King, out on March 25th.
