Last year was just the warm-up. Jazz Cartier is about to take over in 2016.
The Toronto rapper, who puts on one of the most intense live shows in rap, dropped his Marauding In Paradise mixtape early last year, combining manic energy and ominous production with moments of calm and self-reflection. As 2016 started, we were getting hints that Cartier was about to drop a new project, and now it’s here.
Hotel Paranoia includes previously released “I Know,” “Stick and Move,” “Tales,” and “Opera,” and it’s an ambitious 16 track project which comes with a website too. From the craziness of “100 Roses” to the gentle “One Day,” we’re going to need some time to process this album.
