Last year, Finding Novyon caught the attention of many new listeners when he dropped his breakout single “Lots” with fellow Minnesota-native Allan Kingdom. Novyon followed up on the buzz with the release of #TheFoodNetwork a few months later, but has been rather quiet since then. Fortunately, Novyon has been busy recording and today he returns with his latest EP, Super Saiyan.

Novyon is gearing up to release new music with Sonny Digital, but before that time comes he offers up this new 7-track EP as an appetizer before the main course. Novyon rhymes over haunting but addicting production provided by 808Louie—and sneaks in his own self-produced track for the outro.

Super Saiyan is the continuation of a three part series that began in 2012—which was inspired by Dragon Ball Z. “I chose the Dragon Ball Z theme because I feel like I’m the protagonist of my story,” said Novyon. “Dragon Ball has always had a special place in my heart. And the constant motif of progression is something I can relate to—with my life and my music.”
