With Flume’s Skin album release drawing ever nearer, the Australian beatmaker has been sharing more and more of the record’s material. Today brings a surprising addition to the track list’s features—Vince Staples.
The two teamed up with Kučka, a fellow Australian producer from Perth, to create “Smoke & Retribution.” It’s the followup to “Never Be Like You,” and stands in stark contrast to the previous release.
This is a more cutting, aggressive Flume, one perfectly suited for Staples’ nasally, sneering flow. “Smoke & Retribution” was premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. You can stream it below, and look out for Flume’s Skin in the coming months.
