If you’re up to date on your Billy Corgan news, you know that one of his many interests outside of music is wrestling. In fact, he is a Senior Producer, Creative and Talent Development for TNA Wrestling, so he’s pretty involved in the promotion in terms of its plots. Now, he’s also behind TNA’s theme music, as a new theme song titled “Roustabout” was shared today.
It’s actually not a new song at all, but an older, unused demo that Corgan offered to TNA for them to use. John Gaburick, TNA’s Senior Vice President of Television, said to Yahoo!, “Billy and I were discussing creative elements for the show when he suggested the song and presented the opportunity to use it on Impact Wrestling. To be able to use an unreleased Smashing Pumpkins song is awesome and sets a commanding stage as fans tune in every Tuesday.”
The song itself is unremarkable, a synthy and anthemic number that actually works pretty well in the trailer video, which you can watch below. If you’re interesting in seeing how the song will be presented on air, Impact Wrestling airs on Tuesdays at 9pm EST the Pop network.
