Will Smith Says Kids "Don't Do Albums Anymore," Willow Smith Promptly Drops Album

None

Six days ago, Will Smith spoke about his new way of approaching music. “I‘m looking for a really clever and creative way to release the music,” he said. “I’ve been watching my kids, and they don’t do albums anymore.”

Just when you think you’ve got the kids figured out, they go and surprise you. Without an announcement other than a couple of cryptic tweets, Will’s daughter Willow has decided to prove Dad wrong and—you guessed it—release an album. Ardipithecus is out on iTunes now, and you can stream it on Spotify below.

Willow told The Fader: “Ardipithecus is my first album in my entire career and it makes me feel so blessed to be able to share my evolution with the LightEaters as I continue excavating my inner worlds…”

Will was right about one thing: parents just don’t understand.
