In a newly revealed clip shared by the show, its young star approaches fellow 22-year-old and soon-to-be musical guest Chance The Rapper and proposes friendship. Harmless enough, right?

Chance, whose humor-infused raps suggest a knack for comedy, plays it off, even curving Davidson’s request to exchange numbers—a tactic that almost works, until SNL‘S Bobby Moynihan strolls by and blows Bennett’s cover.
