Watch Tor Miller's Nostalgic Video for "Carter & Cash"

We premiered Tor Miller’s “Carter & Cash” in September and had high praise for the track, praising the balance it managed to strike between indie songwriting with pop-ready hooks and production. We stand by our initial assessment today, and are also really into the just-released music video for the song.

The neo-nostalgia of the faux-VHS video mirrors that of the song itself: it’s new, it’s classic, it’s catchy, it’s layered. We guess the word for that is timeless.

“I traveled a lot during the time of my last relationship and we wrote many letters back and forth,” Tor previously said of the tune. “At the end of each letter we would sign off with ‘you are the Carter to my Cash’ or vice versa. We, like many others, had an admiration for their story and relationship. It always seemed like something so pure and a possessed a depth which wasn’t present in most couples. And I guess that’s what everyone wants in the end.”

Like we’ve said before, Miller, who is signed to Glassnote Records and is just 20 years old, has a lot ahead of him. Keep tabs on this guy so you can say you were there first. Miller is expected to release his debut album in 2016, and tickets for his upcoming tour go on sale on December 4 at his website.
