If you’re familiar with bLAck pARty, you know him as a rapper, but “You” has him moving in a very different direction. He’s been working with Kari Faux on the production end, but “You” has him front and center as a singer, over a percussion-heavy beat he worked on with Ludwig Goransson, Benny Cassette, and Doc Allison. The song has a live feel to it with a touch of funk, N.E.R.D-like eccentricity, and an unforgettable hook.
