We’ve been tracking Richie Quake’s evolution as a songwriter since 2013, and his progression has been undeniable. From scruffy and lo-fi bedroom pop to the gorgeous, immaculately polished “Robonuthin,” it’s become increasingly clear over time that Richie is committed to self-betterment. His latest, “4 U I Care,” is no different. As the second single taken from his upcoming EP, In Loving Memory, “4 U I Care” is one of Richie’s finest moments yet.

Another slice of his decidedly retro-futuristic and smooth R&B, the track acts as a brilliant follow-up to “Slow Down.” Thematically similar, but no less exciting, “4 U I Care” showcases just how far Richie has come from his earlier days. The somewhat surreal, sleepy quality of music pairs beautifully with the poppier elements here, resulting in what could very well be Richie’s catchiest song to date.

Listen to the premiere of the track below, and check out the art for the In Loving Memory EP, which is due for release this December, below that.
