London producer and singer TALA has been drip feeding us tracks from her new EP Malika, and everything we’ve heard so far has been excellent. The globe-trotting EP features K-Pop group Wa$$up and production don Mssingno on “Tell Me,” Turkish pop star Atiye, Egyptian rappers Sadat and Alaa Fifty on “Enta Ayez (You Wish),” London duo Sylas on “Praise,” and now Banks on “Wolfpack.”
Banks has been exploring on the electronic edges of pop from the beginning, so this collaboration with TALA, a truly unique producer makes a lot of sense on paper. It works brilliantly in practice too, with the two combining for a powerful ode to crew love. Forget a squad, you need a wolfpack.
