No Ceilings London: Meet The Artists

1.

We couldn't be more excited to present our first No Ceilings show outside America. No Ceilings London goes down next Monday, October 19 at Queen of Hoxton, and we've put together an awesome lineup for you. Spanning genres, we're bringing together Bonkaz, Sevdaliza, Leks Rivers, and JD. Reid for a very special evening.

Get familiar with the artists on the following slides, and get into a playlist with some of their best tracks below.

2. JD. Reid

First off, you're already missing out if you don't follow JD. Reid on SoundCloud, you're missing out. The London-based DJ and producer regularly delivers new music, ranging from mesmerizing, bass heavy beats like "Purp" and "315" to production he's done for other artists.

In September JD. Reid dropped Me+1 with ItsNate, proving he's one of the most inventive producers out, and you just need to check out a few minutes of any of his mixes to see what fun his set is going to be.

I'm looking forward to No Ceilings because its bringing together a group of exciting new artists with different styles. It's always a vibe playing in London—we appreciate good music and know how to bring the energy as well. - JD. Reid

4. Leks Rivers

We can't wait to see Leks Rivers live. His music has a raw, DIY vibe to it (makes sense, because the producer/singer has been doing it all himself for a while now), but the songwriting is massive. He's got hooks for days, and his energy is almost palpable. If he can translate that energy into a live performance, Leks Rivers is going to have a very bright future.

This is going to be the first time a lot of people have seen me perform live but it's not my first time on stage. I can't think of any better humans than the Pigeons & Planes family to make history with. London's burning and I don't plan on letting it settle down. - Leks Rivers

5. Sevdaliza

Sevdaliza's music is wonderfully difficult to categorize, combining her memorable vocals (sometimes sultry and seductive, sometimes menacing) with forward-thinking electronic production. The Iran-born, Netherlands-based artist isn't just pushing boundaries with her sonics, either, her videos are always events, with the most recent (below) being especially memorable.

Get ready, because Sevdaliza is not going to hold back when she performs:

Playing live is essential. I feel like I’m directing a strict vision and portraying that in my sonic and visual choices but when it translates into live arrangements my voice and body movements are so free, which makes everything fall into place. On the stage, I connect with that driving energy inside, I’m not just singing songs anymore, I’m doing exactly what I want to do and I have no shame in that. - Sevdaliza

6. Bonkaz

Bonkaz has been blowing up this year. When "We Run The Block" dropped in April we knew it bumped, and we knew it was already buzzing in the streets and at shows, but we had no idea how much of an anthem it would become.

Since then, Bonkaz has been working, dropping a couple of videos and releasing his Forgive Me When I'm Famous EPif you thought he was only about "beat up the feds" and "bag up the white," you'll see the range and versatility on the introspective project.

"Pigeons & Planes premiered my debut single and have been continuously supportive, I have a lot of love for the guys over there," Bonkaz told us, and we're delighted to have him headline our first No Ceilings London event.
