Paris and Montreal-based rapper Manast has been making music for around three years now, and with each successive release he’s found himself closer to finding his voice. On “Den Haag,” his upcoming EP with French producer Nude, Manast sounds the most comfortable he ever has. Atop Ash Kidd’s nocturnal post-ovo production, Manast sing-raps somewhere between Future’s more tortured moments and Drake’s 4AM pondering side.

That’s not to say “Den Haag” is merely a carbon copy of both artists, as Manast takes those distinct sides of both artists and combines them into something wholly his own on “Den Haag.” Making it just a little weirder and unique, Manast recruits St. Louis-based outsider Lewis Grant for a particularly great verse. After impressing us just earlier this week with “In Color,” Lewis’ appearance on “Den Haag” has us even more hopeful for him than before.

Listen to the premiere of “Den Haag” below.
