Jamie Hewlett, the other non-fictional half of Gorillaz, offered us a much-appreciated update on the highly anticipated fifth album from Gorillaz. Confirming that the album has officially gone into production, Hewlett said, “I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well.” Now, Damon Albarn has offered another update on the album. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Albarn has once again confirmed the album is on the way, even if it’s “in the very early days.”

Talking about the new album, Albarn said, “So far, it’s really fast, and it’s got quite a lot of energy.” He didn’t offer much else in the way of new information, but to know that the album is definitely on the way is more than enough. Rolling Stone also asked Albarn what he thought about Future, with Albarn saying that he’s “really interesting, and sometimes exhilarating.” The publication also asked about his thoughts on Kanye West, with Albarn saying he thinks he’s “pretty unique.” When pressed about Drake, however, he said he isn’t “as consistent as he could be.”

But perhaps most interestingly, Albarn seems to be a little worn out in regards to the recently reunited Blur. When asked about playing live as part of Blur, Albarn said, “I still try to avoid it like the plague, to be honest with you. But something weird happens once I’ve stepped onstage: I just have the best time. And then as soon as we get off, I say, ‘Never again.’ It’s very strange.”
