Appleby’s last song “Bitter Boy” was heavy, but the mood is much less tense on his latest, the laid-back “Glossy Ride.” The song almost took on a very different tone, though. The Illinois artist explains: “Originally this song was about real life problems. I shared the idea in the studio my engineer Bryan and friend Anthony but they didn’t respond how I had hoped. The idea was scrapped and ‘Glossy Ride’ was created in the moment for a less aggressive, more relaxed listen.”
