Arca has been experimenting with his sound lately. Back in May he shared “Washed Clean”—a track that felt a bit more tranquil than his previous work, and featured sounds that perfectly matched the title. Now Arca returns with a new track, “Soichiro,” from his upcoming album Mutant—released with a pairing video to match.
“Soichiro” falls back on more familiar sounds, but still manages to venture into new experimental production that feels completely different, even for Arca. As usual, the video creates a drastic contrast—pairing intricate, fast-changing production with very simple, slow-motion visuals.
