Since June, when we started to get to know Max Wonders, he hasn’t stopped for a second, dropping song after song in the lead up to his debut EP You Will Never Find. The 18-year-old from Chicago, who has recently been spending time in LA working on new music, shows truly impressive variety across the EP, getting lost in his thoughts on tracks like “Summertime,” watching his back on “Phone Call” with Trapo, addressing a love interest on “Number One,” and coming in with a late season summer anthem with “Party In The Hills.”

The beats are all excellent (Sowle handles production on five of the eight tracks), not once falling into a standard rap template, full of color, melody, and little flourishes that reward repeat listening. Max Wonders broke down You Will Never Find for us:

“The EP is the soundtrack of a summer. It’s from the perspective of a young person trying not to get “lost in the summertime”, so-to-speak, finding themselves, etc. It’s all of the ups and downs of being a young person in many different moments. I really tried to capitalize on moments, being descriptive and paying attention to detail. Observing my surroundings more than partaking in them. This summer was an experience. I spent the entire bulk of it in Chicago.”

Max Wonders has the tools to take it to the next level, and demonstrates his ambition on his excellent debut EP. Listen to You Will Never Find below.
