Adult Swim’s singles project always delivers, but this year has been particularly on-point. Featuring cult-figures like Yung Lean, as well as indie favorites such as Danny Brown, and even heavyweights like Skrillex, 2015’s series has been its most loaded year yet. They might have saved the best for last, though.

When the lineup for 2015’s series was announced, “The Lavishments of Light Looking” was initially listed as a track by Flying Lotus, which was exciting in its own right, but the actual song itself is a lot more exciting than we initially thought it would be. Starring not only Flylo, but Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, AND George Clinton, the track might just be one of the best singles to come from the series yet.

The psychedelic song makes use of all of those involved, bringing together some disparate talents into a cohesive whole. Billed as WOKE featuring George Clinton, it would appear that Flylo, Thundercat, and Shabazz Palaces have formed a super-group to end all super-groups. It’s a jazzy odyssey that’s just as great as one would expect with the talents involved. Here’s hoping we get to hear a lot more from WOKE as a project relatively soon.
