St. Louis’ finest, Dylan Brady, is already back at it. After taking an insane detour with the bizarre Cake Pop EP, Dylan has seen fit to return to his own namesake for “When It’s Cold.” Recruiting Brockhampton’s Dom McLennon, Saputo, and Lewis Grant, “When It’s Cold” is a stark and suitably icy lonely anthem. The production is every bit as fantastic as we’ve come to expect from Dylan, once again bringing out the best in his collaborators.

Across the haunting, fluttering production, Dylan delivers a defeated verse that gives way for Saputo’s beautifully chilling hook. Inverting the usual technique of piling on elements for the chorus, “When It’s Cold” strips it back so that the focus sits squarely on the melody. Dom brings his a-game here, saying a hell of a lot in a short amount of time, and Lewis Grant makes an incredibly compelling case for his own talents.

Listen to “When It’s Cold” below, and check out the fantastic Dylan Brady-produced “Loading Screen” from Lewis Grant below that.
