Amy, the documentary on British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, is prepping for a DVD release which means more unseen footage of the late singer. This scene is more upbeat and shows a pre-fame, enthusiastic Amy in New York City for the first time, pretending to do a fake interview with her manager, Nick Shymanksy.
The camcorder footage features the two enjoying their trip and living in the moment, as Amy opts to not buy a map and find her own way around the city. It’s one of the more happy intimate glimpses into her life before her fame. Previous clips from the movie have showed 14-year-old Amy singing “Happy Birthday” and in the studio with Mark Ronson.
