After bowling us over with his breathtaking “Ghost,” Reece returns today with a very different offering.

“‘Don’t Go’ is a little bit out of my comfort zone in stylistically,” Reece said. “I tried to create a juxtaposition between the instrumental and the lyrical content.” It’s a rousing, more confident cut, but Reece’s soaring, forlorn falsetto still sounds at home over percussive beats.

That’s due in part to the Weeknd-esque levels of lyrical despondency. Reece continues: “This song is about a relationship that is slowly crumbling and you realize you don’t want it to end, but maybe you’ve realized this too late.”

Tragic stuff, but when heartbreak makes songs like this, there’s a case for it. Stream “Don’t Go” below.
