Premiere: Electric Wire Hustle ft. Kimbra - "Brother Sun"

None

Musically speaking, New Zealand has outdone itself. For a relatively small nation, it produces a staggering amount of quality musicians (even a few not called Lorde), and a few of them have teamed up to deliver us “Brother Sun.”

Besides their heritage, Electric Wire Hustle and Kimbra share a taste for restrained electro-rock layered vocals. The voices bob and weave over gritty, modulated synths for “Brother Sun,” the lead single on EWH’s forthcoming EP. Kimbra channels her inner Erykah Badu and the boys provide some fantastic stuttering production that recalls xxyyxx and Mount Kimbie.

EWH’s Aeons EP is due for release August 28 via Bastard Jazz/Loop (AUS/NZ). Stream “Brother Sun” below, and order the single here.
