If we know anything about Meryl Streep as an actress, it’s that she commits. The latest (of many) examples of this comes for her role in Ricki And The Flash, in which she plays a struggling rocker. But, unlike most actors who take on a part like this, Streep actually learned how to play the guitar. And she didn’t learn from just anybody.
As Stereogum points out, The Jacob Burns Film Center shared footage of the actress getting lessons from rock legend Neil Young. Let me just break this down once more: Neil Young taught Meryl Streep to play guitar. Neil Young, Meryl Streep, guitar lessons. I mean, if that doesn’t make you think Streep is the coolest human alive, then I don’t know what will.
