Koreless - "TT" and "Love"

You should know by now to always pay attention to music released by Young Turks (Jamie xx, SBTRKT, FKA twigs, Sampha etc.), whether you’re familiar with the artist or not, and whether or not it’s the “type” of music you normally listen to.

Their latest release is a double-A side 12″ from Glasgow producer Koreless, and it’s a wonderful mindfuck of a release. People who have been keep a close watch on Koreless or Young Turks might remember his 2013 EP Yugen, a record seemingly built for late-night introspection and solo stargazing, and on “TT/LOVE,” he continues in a similar vein, chopping up female vocals and using them as a central part of both songs. “TT” travels restlessly forward, the chopped up vocals tripping over themselves as they tumble out of your speakers, while “LOVE” seems to be building towards something greater, but switches gears suddenly towards the end, a romance that flames bright but is gone too soon.

“TT/LOVE” is out now on Young Turks. Buy physical here or digital here. Also check out a short film about his recent collaboration with visual artist Emmanuel Biard, featuring a giant laser and a Russian choir, here.
