The bright, vibrant aesthetic of all of Kero Kero Bonito’s photo may be the first to draw attention but its their equally vibrant striking sound that really holds that attention. Last September, we first took notice to their unique ability to seamlessly blend UK dance music and Japanese pop.
Kero Kero Bonito returns this week with to announce that they will be heading out on a North American tour this fall. The band followed up the good news with a brand new single titled “Chicken.” Their new single is a playful mix of multiple influences. The synths and bassline are reminiscent of ’80s pop and R&B hits while the English and Japanese vocals help to bridge the gap between previously separate audiences.
