Jamie Woon Ends Four-Year Hiatus With "Sharpness"

Gorgeous harmonies, irresistible rhythms, and a groove that envelops you like thousand thread count sheets? Yep, Jamie Woon is back and better than ever—four years since Mirrorwriting, the English singer has emerged with “Sharpness.”

When the track was premiered on Pharrell’s Beats 1 show, Woon said “I’m really inspired by D’Angelo’s Voodoo and having the band in the room. It’s a dying art trying to record live players, because it costs money to do it properly. My starting point was that I wanted to hear a funky rhythm section.”

He’s succeeded there, and invoked the spirit of Stevie Wonder to boot, employing the full range of pitch-perfect vocals.. This is one of 2015’s best singles to date—let’s just pray we don’t have to wait another four years for more.
