The folks behind Goodbye Tomorrow have forced patience from their listeners since arriving with the video single, “JAY Z,” six months ago. A handful of other drops have brought forth the release of A Journey Through the Mind of a Non Believer, which works to align with the catchy croons and often abrasive, occasionally apocalyptic beat clusters seen in past tracks.
Records like the piano-led “Light One, Pour One” and “Shine” find Tomorrow removing themselves from those busy sound-beds, allowing a chance to breathe before journeying back to synth territory. It’s a wildly ambitious effort that, in most instances, doesn’t falter.
