This Sunday (August 9), Glass Animals will be playing a free show in Central Park as a part of the annual SummerStage series. As if a free show isn’t enough, the band decided to be extra generous by delivering a new song. Simply saying, “because it’s such an exciting moment for us all, we decided to take a song from a New York band that we love, and then Glass Animalsify it.”
Glass Animals’ new song “Gold Lime” is a cover of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Gold Lion” blended together with Erykah Badu’s “The Healer”—though Badu isn’t from New York, the band thought it would be a nice addition. Both songs are very different from one another, but Glass Animals found a way to seamlessly fuse the two until they made a great new creation that sounds just right.
