“Burn” was the debut single of London-based Portuguese singer Mai Kino, and it was a powerful introduction. For her second release, “June,” Mai strips things down for a beautiful, bare-boned song that lets her voice and songwriting take center stage. “June is about red skies and coming to terms with the impermanence of things,” she explains. With June over and fall slowly creeping up, the song is a bittersweet reminder of the impending end.
