Twin sister duo Ibeyi have never hidden their love and appreciation for hip-hop. Those who have been lucky enough to see them perform live may have gotten the chance to experience their unique cover of Jay Electronica’s “Better In Tune With The Infinite.” But now they’ve finally released an official version of their cover.
On the original version, Jay raps over a beautiful piano and violin sample which allow each word of his verses to hold even more power. For their cover, which they’ve renamed “Exhibit Diaz,” Ibeyi speed up the rhythm just a bit but the passion within their voices allow Jay Electronica’s lyrics to hold the same amount of weight as he initially intended.
