The Screaming Females just did one of 2015’s greatest acts of community service: turning the inescapable “Shake It Off” into the upbeat, empowering anthem Taylor Swift (we’re sure) wanted it to be. The New Jersey band tapped into the tune’s pop-rock roots for their own inspired cover as a part of the A.V. Club’s Undercover series.
Cleansed of its cloying-ness and Taylor’s cringeworthy rap verse (and with an added guitar solo), the song is about 100 times more fun. Watch the band perform it above.
