The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore on Comedy Central is another news show that discusses important current issues in a humorous roundtable fashion. On last night’s episode, Killer Mike was welcomed as one of the guests to discuss Rachel Dolezal. If you’ve been on the internet, caught a glimpse at a newsstand or saw the news at all within the past week, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about this story by now. If you still have yet to hear about, in short, Rachel Dolezal is a white woman who “identifies as black” and who also happens to be the president of the Spokane, Washington chapter of the NAACP.
Anyway, back to Killer Mike. The roundtable discussion talked about racial identity, privilege and more. Whenever Killer Mike makes a TV appearance, it’s a good one—and this was no different. As always, he was able to make valid points while still keeping the humor alive. Now that’s a guy you should vote for.
