J. Cole’s Dreamville Records label has seen some success over the past year, and Cozz’s Cozz & Effect album still going strong. The Los Angeles rapper impressed with the record, weaving street tales and conscious narrative that reflects life experience well beyond his young age. One of the more introspective records on the debut is “Western Ave. Slaves,” which explores the life of young girls in his part of Los Angeles.
